Zaskalnik Waterfall
Nature
It is also known as Sopotnicki Waterfall or Sewerynówka and is located three kilometres from Szczawnica. It is a fantastic destination for unhurried walking and cycling trips.
It is on the Sopotnicki Potok in the Radziejowa Range in the Beskid Sądecki. The threshold of the waterfall reaches about five metres high; it is built of sandstone. Immediately below, a two-metre-deep plunge pool has formed as a result of the swirling movement of rock debris under the influence of falling water. The former crown of the waterfall is being successively dissected, so that it recedes up the stream, leaving rocky abutments. If anyone is looking for an attraction near Szczawnica, they have just found it. You can get to the waterfall by an unhurried walk in 45 minutes, by bicycle route or on horseback. From Szczawnica, it is also possible to get to the waterfall by carriage, which often runs, or by a stylised Choo-Choo. Well worth it! The water is crystal clear, and you can cool your feet on hot days. Above the waterfall is a place to relax or picnic surrounded by beautiful nature.
