The temple was founded ca. 1340 by Casimir the Great.
In 1405, a monastery for the Canons Regular of the Lateran brought from Kłodzko was built.
The interior of the Gothic Basilica having one nave and two aisles is decorated with the huge main altar, stalls, boat-shaped pulpit, stalls and Mannerist altar-mausoleum of St. Stanislaus of Kazimierz, Canon of Krakow. Church fairs: on the feast of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ (Corpus Christi); St. Stanislaus of Kazimierz (5 May), and St. Augustine (28 August).
