Alwernia Tourist region: Jura Krakowsko-Częstochowska

Although the smallest of the parks of this kind in the Małopolska region, Rudniański Landscape Park attracts with its luxuriant flora and picturesque terrain. Situated in the Kraków-Częstochowa Upland to the west of Kraków, it was established to protect valuable forest complexes, including oak-hornbeam and mixed coniferous forests, and xerothermic grassland and thickets growing on hill slopes and limestone rocks.

Rudniański Landscape Park is the smallest landscape park in Małopolska. However, in such a small area, there are many very valuable natural sites and objects associated with both animate and inanimate nature. It is undoubtedly worth taking a short cultural and natural history tour here. On the one hand, the monuments of Poręba Żegota and Alwernia; on the other, the beautiful grounds of two nature reserves: Rudno Creek Valley and Kajasówka Valley. As you can see, there is something for every tourist. The park is located between Alwernia to the northwest and Czernichów to the southeast. It is located in three municipalities: Alwernia, Czernichów and Krzeszowice. There are several large forest complexes in its area: Orlej Forest, Czarny Forest, Kosiarz Forest, and Soswica, as well as smaller ones located around Alwernia, Okleśna and Kamień. It also includes a large section of the picturesque valley of the Rudno stream, from which the park takes its name. The fact that the Rudniański Landscape Park is the smallest in the Małopolska region does not mean that it has less to offer than others. Many valuable natural sites and objects related to animate and inanimate nature are in its area. It is undoubtedly worth taking a short cultural and natural history tour here. On the one hand, the monuments of Poręba Żegota and Alwernia, on the other, the beautiful grounds of two nature reserves: Rudno Creek Valley and Kajasówka Valley. It is also worth spending a few moments nearby in Alwernia, which captivates with its historic wooden market square, the Bernardine Fathers' monastery and the forever interesting Fire Fighting Museum. There are three PTTK hiking trails and cycle paths in the park. An exciting way to visit and enjoy the park is to go canoeing down the Vistula, allowing you to observe bird habitats.
