Lanckorona Commune
Krakowska 8, 34-143 Lanckorona
Tourist region: Beskid Mały i Makowski
Lanckorona is a beautiful town with a unique steep market square, from which picturesque streets with wooden houses diverge at right angles. The rich and long history of the town dates back to the Casimir the Great time. The houses in Market Square and the outlet streets were built in 1869-72 after the last fire in the town.
The wooden architecture and cobbled streets captivate with their startling beauty and idyllic character. Walking along Cichych Szeptów Alley and Zakochanych Alley takes you up to Castle Hill, which dominates the town and offers beautiful views of the surrounding foothills. Cafes and restraurants renowned for their fantastic atmosphere add to the charm and uniqueness of the village. Time passes more slowly here.
Every year on the first weekend after Santa Claus Day, angels from all over the world and...heaven 'fly' to Lanckorona to take part in the Angel in the City Festival.
The Lanckorona Commune was awarded a distinction in the 2021 Małopolska Tourist Treasures competition in the Atmospheric Place category.
