The church builder was Kondracz, the first to use the cross-shaped church model, foreign to Lemkos but popular in Russia and the Balkans, topped with a massive dome. Until the mid-20th century, the church functioned as a Greek Catholic parish. Due to the displacement of the local Lemkos during Operation Vistula in 1951, it was converted into a Roman Catholic church dedicated to the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary.

To the front is a tower and presbytery, topped by octagonal cupolas. Inside, a complete, beautifully decorated iconostasis from the second half of the 19th century and a figural-ornamental polychrome have been preserved.  Also of note are the three Rococo side altars and the Baroque crucifix. Among the numerous paintings in the church, the Baroque-folk painting ‘Christ at the Post’, which is older than the church itself and dates back to the 18th century, stands out. The 19th-century icons are also interesting: 'Crucifixion' and 'Saints Cyril and Methodius'. The main altar, baptistery, and wooden belfry date from modern times. The Stations of the Cross are the work of folk sculptor Józef Kuczaj.

The church in Złocko delighted, among others, the well-known poet, bard of the Bieszczady and Beskid Mountains, Jerzy Harasymowicz. In the poem 'In the November Forest', also known as the song, he writes:

"Not painted by human hand
There is a great sadness of my soul
But even a golden icon
I will never say anything."
